The Moment

Everyday's a new day,
And every moment's just as long,
As every other that seemed an eternity,
And each one that hardly seemed to come along.

And if you're always looking for the next one,
That is so wonderful it goes by so fast,
That you're immediately looking for the next one,
Well, can such a cycle really last?

But what is the alternative, you may ask.
Does one just enjoy the moment?
When one stops to think that they're really all the same,
Then, the one you're in will never end.

And it's alright,
If it all seems a conundrum.
There's really no one that would disagree,
Who has given it some deliberation.

Out of Time

You must take some time out,
Just by yourself,
Without the world to tell you what it needs,
For your mental health,

But it's impossible in this society,
To truly have that,
Which is why insanity is the rule,
And oppression is a fact,

That must be eliminated, at least from,
The construct of Humanity,
And delegated back to Nature,
For simplicity.

And it's alright,
The hangover will go away soon,
From conflicting loyalties to selfish desire,
We'll all be artificially ruined.

A New Morning

Sometimes you just wake up,
As if your life never happened,
It's a new day and all you have to do,
Is what comes up in your noggin.

No responsibilities to anyone,
Until you stop a second and reflect,
That existence is impossible alone,
And you suddenly remember events,

That brought you to where you are, even long ago,
Even completely unrelated,
Like the butterfly on the other side of the world,
Or your thoughts in the last second.

And it's alright,
Sometimes you can just forget.
I think it's called something like meditation,
Used to regenerate and clear your head.

Once you've gotten somewhere,
Where you've done all that you can,
To the extent that you are capable,
It's time to look to other humans,

And have the faith that those making an effort,
Have found themselves thinking the same thing.
Really, what happens is they're always cranked out,
And you just have to catch the next one coming,

And show her that she cannot do it alone,
Because she might not have actually seen,
That there are others like her, and the only way to do more,
Is to look to other human beings.

And it's alright,
If the first one doesn't agree,
We're talking here about a higher consciousness,
Undiscussed for many centuries.

Knowledge

There is always a point,
When you look back at what you've learned,
And are amazed at how little there is,
With very few rocks upturned,

But you forget who you were before the lessons,
And how much it all seemed to you then,
And how the things you don't know now seem could fit,
Inside an infinitely large bin,

Which you are or else you'd never have expanded,
To think that what you know isn't very much.
Embedded in your very being's the tools of knowledge you need,
Without the risk of using all the room up.

And it's alright,
If it seems that you are nearly full.
Just continue to take it all in,
Until you find you're indefatigable.

If You Want

There is nothing more you have to do,
Than continually try,
And continually devise the next step,
With your mind,

And be aware of where you are,
And of where you are going,
And keep an eye out for those who may,
Want to destroy your glory,

For reasons you must understand,
Or you'll never get very far,
And never relax,
If you want a future.

And it's alright,
If you don't,
Or if you can't put in the effort,
To dig that moat.

Did You Do With Abandon?

No matter what you do,
Remember the world is all yours,
Until you die and then it disappears,
Except for others,

And how will they remember what you did,
In relation to the power in your hands?
Will they say, 'She understood no one owns her,
And her life was in her hands.'?

Will they, in retrospect, say you had it right,
That there are no limits to what one can do,
And that you did it in your own way,
Even if it wasn't what you'd planned to do?

And it's alright,
If they chuckle a little bit,
At how your world rubbed up against theirs,
'Cause a life's value's not judged by its conflicts.

Looking Forward

Just because you're not looking forward to something,
Doesn't mean you can't go through it,
With the confidence that it will all work out,
To your benefit,

Or that you are the only one to think so,
Or are the only one responsible,
For the outcome and the consequence,
Or paying for it all.

Close your eyes and put things in perspective,
One day is only a small portion of,
The many that sum up to make your life.
Life itself already burdens you enough.

And it's alright,
If it doesn't all turn out well.
It's more a reflection on life itself,
Than on you're own unique and personal hell.

By One Day

When all one knows you by,
Is the company you keep,
And the intimate knowledge that they have,
Of the place you sleep,

And your daily movements with money,
And the things you do everyday,
How can they possibly know who you are,
Or believe you when you say,

That each day's different and cannot be,
Judged against an ideal life,
Marked by no change even in a structure?
You can't dissect a soul with a knife.

But, it's alright,
Because you know who you are,
And the pain you go through when the expectations fall short,
Of Big Brother.

Mistakes

There are always ups and downs,
Aren't there?
'Cause if there's not, you have a lot of work,
To make life fair,

And to make days short, 'cause that's when you know,
You are having fun.
Yes, when you are actually shortening your life,
That's when you know you've really begun,

To get it right, 'cause that's what you want.
Don't make a mistake or it will cost you,
Your pride and confidence and esteem,
And any self-worth, too.

Wait, it's alright,
To make a mistake, everyone says so.
It's what you do when you realize,
You're going to make more the farther you go.
