Vindication

The same thing you've done,
That sometimes makes you cringe,
Really looks smart,
When they start that bullshit, again,

And make you wish,
That you never were there,
And suddenly, when you least expect it,
Everyone's aware,

Of what was once a cry for help,
Some things can only be considered that,
Until how you did it becomes the mode,
That everyone reenacts.

So, it's alright,
When you smack your forehead with your hand,
It just shows that your filled with passion,
And are invested.

Knowing is Pretending

It is all a conundrum,
How you're placed on this earth,
Knowing nothing other than what you sense,
And what you have learned,

From others, who themselves were just placed here,
And know nothing, really.
And we are all expected to stand up tall,
To succeed?

Which makes perfect sense for consciousnesses,
That need presumptions in order to exist,
Otherwise our thoughts would be unconnected,
Pictures floating in an abyss.

So, it's alright,
To act like you have it figured out,
No one truly believes that bullshit,
But they sure admire the lack of doubt.

Art

There are many ways,
To skin a cat,
With different results as good as another,
Depending on where you're at,

And the value you put upon function or form,
And what pleases you regarding each one,
Which is why two different people can make,
Two works of art, each worthy of recognition,

And why the one can't show the other,
How to make the same thing,
Except to the extent that it will be,
Completely unique to the person making,

As long as she's alright,
And is doing her work honestly,
For that is what separates art from nothing,
And dreaming from reality.

The Sixth Sense

There are so many factors,
Oh, so many of so many kinds,
That, when you stop to sort them out,
You will soon fall behind,

The actual living that you're trying to sort out,
So instinct is the only sense,
That offers any help in navigating,
Through any given event.

And you may think that reaction is only,
A coordinated effort of the usual five,
And that no life can happen without them,
Never mind that you could not stay alive.

Except you would be alright,
Even if all your five senses were gone,
Because you're body'd still have the sense to absorb,
Nutrients fed through injection.
