The Wolff of Pennsylvania Ave

I'm no economist,
Don't even look at bills,
I'd rather forget there's a thing called cash,
Take on debt, come what will,

Just like the American government,
Richard Wolff knows the deal,
For a four-year term, what would someone do?
Not ostracize those who pay for their meals,

Which means they can't tax the corporations,
Who care for naught but gain,
So the government borrows from business,
It's, as Wolff says, insane.
We all pretend,
Like I do with my bills,
Imagining the American Dream,
Can be accomplished by sheer force of will.

The Importance of Satire

Sometimes just to stay sane,
I go to The Onion,
Learn things about news that don't come out,
Without great sarcasm,

Like precise fermentation is nowhere,
Even though it should be,
Promoted by Monbiot as a cure,
For the world's reliance on processed meat,

But that is too real for any satire,
Or legitimate news,
Not conspiracy, but reality,
We are structured to lose,
This world to cash,
Which, in turn equals greed,
Just like Oxford Bags showed six years ago,
The only cause of human change is need.

Oxford Bags

Groceries cost more, now,
People are making less,
Many have lost their jobs all together,
An uncleanable mess,

Canadians were already in debt,
It is like Oxford Bags,
That book anticipated that the world,
Would have to one day eliminate cash,

Just stamp value on individuals,
Depending what they do,
No one starves, still no one gets farther than,
How they have labelled you.
But before that,
There'll be a lot of pain,
Our children, not knowing what it was like,
Like us, will only have cause to complain.

Onto The Next

It's finally finished,
It is true what they say,
That things seem like shit when you're done with them,
You want to slay and flay,

Chop into pieces and grind up like meat,
Encase in intestines,
Put on the queue, veg'tarian or not,
Just mask the carnage with glasses of wine,

Soon it will come out from the other end,
Decay into the ground,
Then p'haps you can be proud of it again,
Until the flushing sound,
Then onto new,
'Finish' wasn't your goal,
It's the process that should motivate you,
That's the whole point and nature of the soul.
