When Is It Time?

When's the time for protest?
When injustice is done,
And if the screams and chants fall on deaf ears?
Well, then revolution,

But that can't happen without a leader,
So where will you get one?
It must be someone with nothing to lose,
And no fear of the state's retribution,

Who cares for nothing but injustices,
Affecting anyone,
No matter race, sex, faith or politics,
Else, that is fascism,
Which is the crunch,
It e'er has been and will,
Feeding a group's desire for more money,
After being trounced, repressed, loathed and killed.

Time For Revolution

Want a revolution?
Well, it is hard to plan,
Mostly you have to be prepared to act,
As does ev'ry human,

Moved by the injustice of the system,
Real, but still hard to see,
How do you fight against all that you've known,
When there's no examples from history?

You have to believe you're not free to be,
With others screaming, 'yes'!
There's no system where everyone's happy,
But for sure, more than less.
Is that the case?
Is it time for a change?
'Til satisfaction hits an all-time low,
We'll never know the limit of that range.

The New Socialism

Until there is no money,
Printed anywhere,
And it is never seen in someone's hand,
But only travels through the air,

From the proof of our identity,
Embedded in our very skin,
As much a part of us as our sense of humor,
Or our manic compulsion,

To have what we want, easily,
Just pick it up and walk away.
Isn't that the freedom we talk about,
When we camp out for days and days?

And it's alright,
We just have to make money part of us,
And it needs to be distributed evenly,
By the new government, socialist.

The Capitalist Revolution

What's all this fuss about money?
What good did it do anyone?
The rich spend their days holding onto it,
And the rest want a revolution.

Sometimes, in moments of freedom,
I imagine imagining,
Living my life, in my present condition,
Not thinking about money,

Which is how some people do it,
Though, it catches up to you in the end,
Because banks, unenlightenedly,
Worry about dividends.

But, alright,
What should a modern revolution be?
Maybe the way to topple this system,
Is to just forget about money.

The Guilt of Success in an Unjust World

The world is always unjust,
No matter which one you're in,
If you are not satisfied with where you are,
And have no time for a revolution,

And, yet, are better off than most,
Which makes revolution difficult.
That's the challenge in the world we're in:
Most people are better off than most.

So, you're left with the guilt of success,
Or the hesitation to be all you can be,
And you would join those who are fighting these conditions,
But you don't have the energy.

Here's the truth, alright?
You can only ever do what you do best,
And, if you do, you can be guaranteed,
That you will be a good example for the rest.

Modern Revolution

With the way that we are brainwashed,
Are the days of revolution gone?
I don't mean revolutions of the mind,
I mean the violent ones.

For those who turn to violence,
When frustration makes them turn,
Away from the life they've been given,
What will they have learned,

Is the origin of a new world?
When, wouldn't it be grand,
That instead of tearing down what exists,
We all learn to understand,

That to be alright,
It doesn't matter the form of the government,
It's about the universal good intentions,
Of its constituents?

Occupy Wall Street

Is it really possible,
To get enough for this protest?
The insidious thing about this society,
Is how busy everyone is.

Too tired to go out and show their anger,
Too tied to the life they're in,
To spare the time to occupy their own mind,
Never mind a revolution.

And deep in their hearts they bet it's a waste,
Of time to even try.
The government has the pretend power,
And it has different fish to fry:

Like how to spin this, alright?
So that they can seem like they're for the poor,
While honoring the money from the people with power,
That all this ado is for.

Chomsky's Society

You can't just remove the veil,
That shows you the world,
As it is shown to you by society,
For that would be cruel,

Because there is nothing you can do,
Without the unveiling of those,
Billions others living with you,
And no one wants to know,

The way history is painted for us,
To maintain the status quo,
Emerson was right,
To say that history shouldn't be known,

To be alright,
And live how you were born to live,
Not following the rules of the past,
But finding joy in what you have to give.

Work for Change

Speaking out about what,
You feel is unjust,
Should not be measured by what you know,
When you've had enough,

Of the situation at hand,
Because, even if things are not as they seem,
They're being represented in a poor light,
To, at least, one human being,

Nor should you be afraid to say something,
Simply because of where you work,
Though each of these points is unrealistic,
If you live in this world.

So, to be alright,
With the way things are done,
Try to be as silent as possible,
And avoid revolution.

Muerte a la Revolución!

Do we need government?
I'm starting to wonder.
For don't corporations run the world anyway,
So that government's just a part,

Of the illusion that we have power?
But where does the power lie?
I'd like to say in the hands of the people,
But I'm not that type of guy.

I'm the type of guy to think that someone,
Somewhere has the type of juice,
That allows him to do anything that he wants,
Regardless of who he might abuse.

But it's alright,
I've got less problems than most,
Not living in a Corporate Democracy,
So I raise my glass to all with a toast.

The Revolution

You have an idea,
That the system is not right,
And have one to replace it that is better,
So, it's revolution time,

And in order to ensure that what you've got,
Exactly matches what you imagine,
Away must go the parts that cannot be changed:
Policies, laws and humans.

And once you're done, you better hope,
Who's left understands your goal,
Not to imply there's loopholes in your plan,
But there're people who'll still be digging for gold,

The easy way, alright?
Because greed doesn't grow out of a specific system,
Like generosity, it can be found,
In any human.

Freedom Of Speech

Liberty of thought,
Is a sanctified right,
That isn't even something you can interfere with,
Or even within sight,

And why that right should be extended out,
Into the air which we all breathe,
Is not an obvious extension,
And one I would rather leave,

Except, what are the consequences,
Of letting your thoughts spill out,
Other than spilling into the minds of others,
The right of which should not be in doubt,

So, it's alright,
I say scream your thoughts to the air,
And if that ultimately leads to revolution,
Well, that's not what we're talking 'bout here.

The Use of Love Juice

What would really happen,
If love were currency?
Somehow what's harnessed to power the world,
Is its positive energy,

And we find that if we all produce it,
Every tractor, car and factory,
Will have enough love infused,
Electricity,

And the emissions of these machines,
Suffice as an elixer in the air,
To eradicate the need for chemicals,
For fertilizers, pesticides or medicare?

That would be alright,
And while we're at it,
Lets make the clothes that capture the love energy,
Kill you when you don't emit it.

Getting Out Of Here

There are places you find yourself,
Where you never are,
And which help you understand,
What life is for,

And how time passes by,
And has all your life.
So, why would you want to be doing,
What isn't quite,

What you imagine now,
That you're on the outside?
'Why oh why?' You ask yourself,
And then you hide.

It's alright,
Keep on keeping on,
And just change,
Come the revolution.

No Revolution Is A Line Of Flight

Just because thousands of people,
Think they feel the same way,
And as they march together,
Are unified in what they say,

Does that mean, when it is all over,
And they are told that they won,
They will continue along the same path,
And behave as one,

Or will they start to enjoy the freedom,
That they were fighting for,
Exercising their rights as individuals,
Living in their own world?

Well, we've seen this before, right?
Every revolution,
Must be organized, in order to destroy,
The current organization.

You're Not Alone

Just because you're the most educated,
Doesn't mean you've the most independent mind,
In fact, chances are you are a good example,
Of the most mediocre kind,

Of human created by this system,
And it's not to say,
That those who've escaped are good humans either,
Because they're, in their own way,

Products whose destiny is to deceive,
To bring about their own ends.
And if you think living life with only love is gay,
You've your own deviance,

Making it alright,
That people live in fear and anxiety.
Is this really what should have become,
Of humanity?

Time For Change

Have you ever wondered,
What this generation is to do,
With its internet and environment,
And new millenium, too?

Surely, it is meant for something great,
Or, at least revolutionary.
So where are great ideas that make us think,
Outside the ordinary?

Where are the directives, not to connect,
But to sever all ties as we know them,
And to engage a new turn of mind,
And thus creating a new human?

Oh, it's alright,
A revolution's not required, I guess.
I just thought some people might want to try,
An approach to life less innocuous.

Revolution Revisited

What is state of the art?
It has something to do,
With the art of the state,
And how it manipulates you,

And how trends serve to serve the monetary system.
Stop and consider this:
Why is it money is the only thing,
Keeping the world doing what it,

Knows it should do, but for lack of funds,
For lack of this thing that doesn't really exist?
The only thing that ever threatens to topple it,
Is the threatening pumping of fists.

And it's alright,
I'm not suggesting anything of the kind.
I don't have the money to pay for a revolution.
Oh, wait, all I need is people and time...

Your Place, At Thirty-Five

It's not that you are too old,
Or out of touch with the world,
It's just that you don't live in the one,
That has quickly unfurled,

Behind you by the generation before,
That is quickly changing the rules,
Just like any revolution in the past,
You must make way for the new.

Though also just like any revolution in the past,
Nothing much will change,
Except how the world's seen by everyone,
But, the world will still be the same.

And it's alright,
It doesn't mean you have no place,
But at thirty-five you have to commentate,
Rather than play the game.

Why Not All?

What does it take to make it,
And what does make it mean?
Other than to have the freedom to do what you want,
Without having to live lean,

Without having to wonder if you will still,
Be able to do what you want later,
Because you're now just taking the chance,
That you'll somehow have the same freedom in a year.

Which you won't unless you are,
Of a very, very small group,
As it is now, as it has always been,
Until there is some kind of real coup,

That makes it alright,
To be born anywhere,
And still have as much comfort as someone with,
A silver spoon serving up his fare.
