Maintaining Awe

How do you want to improve?
Do you want to use some facts,
Collected by others and yourself,
So you can react,

To the comparisons that come out,
Because that is all there is?
How else can you know where you're at,
Without some orientation?

And once you've succeeded in seeing yourself,
Amidst the garden of flowers in which you live,
Will you know where you want to go,
Or will you be happy with where you exist?

All questions, alright,
Because that is all there is.
It's when you start to answer them,
That you cease to be curious.

Being Human

Change is always very,
Close to your heart,
But how close is it to reality,
All you need is a start,

Which once started, cannot be reversed,
Which is where the fear sets in,
Of what you don't know,
The secret to humans,

Because we see what,
Cannot be seen,
And know it is the path,
To Being,

Alright,
Because it's not where you end,
But how you approach,
Being human.

A Jumble

Everything is alright,
It always is,
Except when you are taken by force,
And the oppression never eases,

It's then that you are tested ultimately,
On your decision to interpret,
Every moment as meant to be,
As if it'll lead to some conquest,

That will redeem you from all life's shit,
Though there is one question to ask,
'If your victory hasn't yet come,
What's the point of all of it?'

And you're right, it's alright,
Everything happpens for a reason,
Bad things happen because there are bad people,
And has nothing to do with redemption.

What There Is

There is really no point,
In not reaching out,
To the thing that seems to be the same,
As what seems to shout,

From your heart as what there is,
Because, let's face it,
Either you think like everyone else,
Or you have to be resilient,

And remember what there really is,
Which is not a lot,
Unless you consider everything you see,
As everything you've got.

Which is alright,
Because there's really nothing else,
Even your most secret thoughts,
Are a reflection of your self.

The Hole

It doesn't take a lot,
To make a hole in your life.
Just a twist of fate or mind,
Will cut like a knife,

Through your confidence in who you are,
Because, in reality,
Who you are is on as shaky ground,
As the world economy.

And there's no way to repair the hole.
It just has to disappear,
Once you've forgotten, again, that you're like everyone else,
And not superior.

But it's alright,
That says nothing about who you are,
Only about what we do to survive,
And what we do to get far.

Finally, The Truth

It's not what you think inside,
But how you act on the out,
No matter how high you esteem something,
It's nothing unless there is no doubt,

That no matter what it is you esteem does,
Is truly for the best.
In other words, you must assume what it thinks,
In no way contradicts what you've guessed,

Is going on, based on its actions.
Have you yet, figured it out?
Nothing you do can unveil the truth,
So you can only deal with what one shouts,

But it's alright,
No need for despair,
Once you resolve yourself to the fact,
That what there is, is what's there.

The Truth

You cannot stop the terror,
That things might not quite be,
What you thought they were because ultimately,
It's all a mystery,

And a best bet, no matter who you are,
Except for the scenario,
That you have enough people that agree with you,
So that what is true will never be known,

And it will never be known anyway,
I guess the proper phrase should have been,
That the fact that what's not known will never be known,
Will never be seen.

And it's alright,
If this seems like an easy cop out,
That, too, is a way to muffle,
Reason and instinct's eternal shout.

Living or Not

When you don't know something,
You're pretty much among most,
And when it's about something you hold dear,
You've met the most unsung ghost,

That fills your life with the most meaning,
Grounded in the extreme despair,
That what you love might actually not,
Even be there.

But that is just what life teaches you,
If you refuse to follow the path,
Recommended by 9 out of 10 humans,
Who would prefer a good laugh.

And it's alright,
Just don't get all caught up in deceit,
It's really about knowing what you know,
Which wouldn't satisfy a parakeet.
