Everyone IS Good

It really is much better,
To think the best,
Of everyone you meet, even if it means,
You get pounded in the chest,

And kicked in the balls because the alternative,
Is to think the worst,
And alienate those who actually are not,
And deny yourself a fatter purse,

Obtained, not by carousing with the cheats,
But the few who find incredible strength,
With the knowledge that no matter where one might look,
Finding skeletons, you just ain't.

And it's alright,
To be sinful sometimes,
As long as you are open about it,
And it's not a hurtful crime.

How You Get By With Your Love

What is it you can believe?
It depends on where you start.
Do you believe those closest to you really exist,
Or are they just a part,

Of the scenery, like a tree,
Or the government?
Do you exist as part of,
Or despite of it?

Is your joy derived from loving others?
And, if it is,
Is that because you want to better their lives,
Or feel better because of it?

And you'll be alright,
Whether you care or not,
For others or yourself,
If what you're doing, you like a lot.

For Other Reasons

If you can't believe it,
Just stop to consider that,
No thing you can consider in this world,
Is no more a believable fact,

And if you really stop and think about it,
Like that caveman played by Jack Black,
How weird is it that the sounds coming from your mouth,
Cause others to act?

And how weird is it that when no one knows,
Where we actually came from,
That something as banal as money (which is not real),
Demands such consideration?

Oh, it's alright,
I know money makes the world go round.
How silly would it be if we all just did things,
Because, utilitarianly, they are just sound?

How To Get Ahead

Be ready for opportunity,
No matter what it is,
By knowing everything at all times,
Even as they go through changes,

For on the cusp is where the money is.
Oops, was that said out loud?
Remember that motivation is born unto,
Not the greedy, but the truly devout,

Or is it riches? There is certainly something,
To be gained by believing that,
What is good for others is good for oneself,
Until you can't afford to ignore fact,

That it's alright,
It seems to find comfort on the backs of others,
Unless your convinced you'll get yours,
In some life lived after.
