Not Until It's Gone

One day at a time,
And forget all the rest,
As anything that actually happened,
Lest,

You start to think that you are what you've done,
Because what you've done is already gone,
And can't overcome what you are doing now,
As a new person.

And until you can completely separate,
From that person in the past,
The heartache and pleasure that no longer exists,
Will continue to last,

Which is alright,
If you are happy with where you've been,
And have no care to go anywhere else,
Until your ultimate ending.
