Within one lifetime,
And compared to the total of everything,
Anything's far from the line,
That separates a lot from a little.
Even those who are lauded for it,
When on their deathbeds can't say a lot,
If they're being honest.
For, even this species and all its accomplishments,
Don't really mean a thing,
When put against infinity,
And all the things it's not knowing.
But it's alright,
No one really knows,
If one's own life will be the one that counts,
And so on we go.
