Intention

There's nothing quite so depressing,
As a life without self-reflection,
Even if such thoughts lead to depressing discoveries,
And depression.

For no one has disagreed throughout the ages,
That what's involved in the meaning of life,
Is a leap of faith regarding what it's all for,
Whether aesthetics, community or strife.

So without thinking on what it is you do,
And why it is you do it,
You're just floating through the air like a leaf,
And like a leaf you are not important.

Unless, alright,
You've decided that's what life's all about,
And you've consciously given up your consciousness.
Now, that would be something devout.
