Please, For Me

If everything should fall down around you,
And it is our fault,
Not that you wanted it to,
But you lacked the experience to halt,

The forces always working on one's life,
You wanted to do things yourself,
To save time or money, though in the long run,
That route is a hard sell,

Because you'll never think about the expense,
When you are old and grey and viewing your expanse.
Again, that something you don't think about,
Until you have the experience.

And it's alright,
Maybe everything will stay up,
By some miracle of physics,
And luck.

It's Alright

It's alright that we are toxic,
As a combination, these days.
It's alright that you can't stand to see me,
Because of all the ways,

I live contrary to what you believe,
Is the best for your temperament.
And it's alright that I think you're wrong,
And that I'm heaven-sent.

And it's alright,
That we're stuck with each other,
And our days are filled with tension and anger,
And the question, "what's it all for?"

And why it's alright,
Is because when I sleep,
I live moments with you,
Completely magical, that I keep.

To Be Alone

If you really want to be alone,
Surround yourself by people,
Acknowledge each and every one of them.
Then procede to keep all,

Conversation on the topic of you,
And, unless you're attractive beyond belief,
You will start to see them each shut down,
To your relief,

For everyone likes to talk about herself,
But it's the listeners who merit true friends,
And usually from the beautiful ones,
Because who else could you stand,

To listen to, right?
Because some trade-off's necessary,
You listen to the droning of someone else,
And she let's you gaze at her beauty.

No Time

Sometimes there's no turning back,
Even if you want to,
Revert to the good time when certain people,
Wanted to be around you.

There comes a time when new horizons,
Are either open or ignored,
And there is no real sense ignoring good chances,
For some sense of needing more,

Than anyone can get in one shot,
Unless they win the lottery,
But life is not about instant wealth,
Because time needs to be an entity.

And it's alright,
Hurry up before they get to you,
And do the things you have to do,
Just to geyt through.

The Secret to Love

If you can live void,
Of any emotion,
So that no one can ever break your heart,
By showing repulsion or attention,

And so that you never feel you have to pretend,
In order not to hurt someone else,
Though, ironically, by being honest,
You will be hurting them less,

And so there's not complication in your life,
And you can do what you really love-
Okay, maybe not love, but what you do well,
So you can rise above,

And make money, alright?
Because that's what it's really about,
Even though it's complete unnatural,
At least it will ball you out.

Cars

Cars keep on going,
They never stop,
Like the blood coursing through every vein,
Unlike food in every pot,

Unlike equality for all,
No one can afford that,
But need some wheels that pumps out gas?
I got one round back.

But that all makes sense.
We can all drive to a better land,
Where immigration is easy,
And there's support for every man.

And where it's alright,
If money is not your thing,
It's not the thing of any animal.
Isn't that refreshing?

The Truth

There is not much deeper,
You can get than to recognize,
In a general sense that no one knows,
Anything they prophesize,

About anything, except insofar as,
Most everyone else agrees,
('Cause from religion to camshafts,
There always bubbles up a Heracles,

Who's strength and valor overwhelm all,
Showing exactly where the sun shines from.)
Suffice to say, there's nothing sacred,
Free from all skepticism.

And it's alright,
You don't have to believe me.
That's the beauty of the situation we're in,
You can believe anything.

You Better Believe

Things always get worse before better,
Or is that the other way around?
Only time will tell, and not even then
'Cause you don't know what's to be found,

And you don't know what you could have done,
Or what you still can,
To realize all you dreams,
Or those of your fans,

Because you really do everything for them,
Whether groupies, friends or moms.
The next logical step after attaining success,
Is the declaration,

That you're alright,
And will finally always be,
Because your dreams have all come true,
Until the new ones supercede.

Yes It Matters

It is no secret,
That just because things have been one way,
Forever and ever since time was measured,
They could still change any day.

Revolutions can happen,
And the chair under your ass could disappear,
As could your golden touch,
In as little as a year,

Because it is an often forgotten fact,
That all we know rests on propositions.
Yes, everything, even that undisputed theory,
Of evolution.

So, it's alright,
For you to remind people it could all be a dream.
It could, and just because no one actually believes it,
Doesn't mean that it hasn't always been.

Baby

All your little noises,
When you discover something new,
Should be bottled as an anecdote,
For the troubles of the world.

And your smile, when you are content,
Doing nothing but sitting,
Should be posted on the world wide web,
For everyone's screens.

But then the face you make,
And the tears that begin to fall,
When you can't tell me what it is you want,
Kind of annihilates it all.

But, it's alright,
I'll be there 'til the end,
If only because I love you dearly,
And will always be there to defend.

Contrary To Popular Opinion

Time does not heal all wounds,
Why would it?
It has nothing to do,
With the belligerent,

Way you tore at all that I ever believed,
About the world which I see.
Just one glimpse at that moment reopens the wounds,
As if you just spit your venom at me.

And time can't change who you are,
So why should it hurt any less?
And it can't erase the love I have for you,
And so can't dampen the vividness.

But it's alright,
Love can be spread around,
And people more conducive to me than you,
Can certainly be found.

Pretending

There is no way,
You can change who you are,
Except in so far as you can pretend to be,
Someone else for others,

And live a lie, which one might guarantee you,
Catches up to you in the end,
By laying out for you an entire life,
That was not lived.

And if it means to alienate yourself,
From those who fill up most of your day,
Then prepare yourself for a different life,
And be on your way.

And it's not alright,
It's a very serious thing,
It disrupts entire other lives,
That are also pretending.

Remember

There are just some things,
That you cannot tell someone else,
Not because they are not true,
But because they subvert the self,

And undermine everything they believe,
Is everything that makes them good,
For have no doubt, no one thinks they are bad,
Under the hood.

And that is why you may never be forgiven,
If you say just the right thing,
To make the other believe you forever resent,
What he thinks makes him amazing.

And it's alright,
If you never speak again.
Forgiveness is an over-rated thing,
When compared to one's own illusions.

You Wouldn't Know That

There really is a season,
For every moment you live,
And the transition must happen imperceptibly,
Or also as a season.

In other words, things are always changing,
Even though they seem to hit extremes,
And then change slowly into something else,
Giving less meaning to the in betweens.

And depending on whether the highs that are reached,
Are really lows,
You may be wishing for the next season,
But it never actually arrives, you know.

But you'll be alright,
If you just live each moment as it comes.
Was all this explanation really to just,
Come to this conclusion?

How

It all gets done,
With or without you,
And whether you are a part of it,
Means nothing to,

No one but you, and that is only because,
The illusion that,
Anything's actually affected by,
Any one's particular acts,

Which it is, except for the fact,
That no one actually knows,
If things would have turned any different with anyone else,
At the controls,

But it's alright,
You're getting too caught up,
In what imaginary people might think,
Instead of what's actually in your cup.

While You Can

You may be surrounded,
By all the things you love,
And ignore them because what's at hand,
Is less desirous than what's above,

Because life by nature is not complete,
Because there is always something gone,
Because life is not life if you know everything,
Or don't want revolution,

Or don't need some direction,
Or have nothing you don't want,
That you don't have, because if there is none of that,
Then you can't,

Be alright,
You can only be God,
And who would want to be that,
When you could just want?

As Always

You are definitely a product,
Of our good times in the past,
And I have always felt that the connection,
Always did last,

And once again you're thinking about 'what if',
But won't tell me unless I ask,
Which will not happen unless both of us,
Know exactly how the other'll react,

And in the meantime,
Our lives are on two paths,
The one in fear of the other one,
Actually coming to pass.

And it's alright,
This is a necessary thing.
This ability to turn our back on desires,
Is what separates us from the beasts.

Try To Forget

The voices that you're hearing,
From behind and above,
In languages of all sorts,
Mingled with the screeching of the bus,

And the swoosh of the cars as they fly past,
Empowered by the fact that they,
Are not burdened with the underprivileged,
Are minimal today,

As they are everyday at this time,
As the multitude trudge along,
To the lands that allow them to,
Take public transportation.

But it's alright,
It won't always be like this,
For most, one day they will win the lottery,
And they will be able to leave this nonsense.

To Be Accurate

Life is a series of sprints,
That's what I've been told,
Specifically not a marathon,
That you run until you are old,

And not one sprint after another,
Because everyone needs a rest,
And time to recouperate with gamily and friend,
And with yourself to make it best,

But not too much time in between sprints,
Because while you have slowed your pace,
Others are continuing on themselves,
Not that it's a race.

And it's alright,
If you don't run at all,
There are social nets to catch you,
As the others passing make you fall.

I Love You

No matter what the angle,
There's perfection when I see you,
No matter what the measuring device,
Your beauty exceeds all limits, too,

No matter how long it's been since I've seen you,
It's like I haven't even been on this earth,
I've been engulfed by my own despair,
Floating in space in my very own hearse,

And no matter when I stop to think about it,
Whether in joy or deepest sadness,
Your image is like the beacon for my heart,
To find a refuge of completeness.

And it's alright,
If you piss me off every once in a while.
That's not you but a piece of reality,
And just that thought makes me smile.

Five Years

What is the difference,
Between the successful and the not?
Would you be able to see the nuances,
Between two people that looked a lot,

Alike, and who were dressed in the same way?
Is there some glint in the eye of she,
Who takes the risks that offer great reward,
Versus the embracer of mediocrity?

Probably, though you'd probably have to,
Be of a certain ilk,
To recognize what is lacking in the one.,
And you won't have that until,

You feel alright,
About where you are right now,
And can see five years into the future,
And imagine taking a bow.

Can't Remember

There is nothing,
That is done,
Completely alone, because when you're alone,
You're doing it for someone,

Whether it is for the person you love the most,
Or people unseen,
Or simply your self,
Though, all three have the same meaning.

For, let's stress this point one more time,
Without the existence of other people,
Whether they're real or imaginary,
Whether human, plant or animal,

You would not be alright,
Without knowledge of them,
You would be comatose and lack all sense,
And not human.

How Can You Believe That

Does everything happen for a reason?
Really?
Because that's an awful lot of trust to,
Put on something you can't see.

And as you continue not to look,
For that reason because it is hidden,
What is left of what you call yourself?
I guess there is always the watching,

Yourself and observing the feelings,
That visit you beyond your control,
Because those happen for a reason, too.
Isn't the human experience drôle?

And it's alright,
If you actually think you're alone,
In making the things in your life happen despite,
The random things that happen for the unknown.

Ultimately

You can't give offence,
You can only take it,
Of course, sometimes you can't help inhaling,
Because it's so abundant,

And that's when you must stand up,
Because the world's forgotten,
That you're a living and free,
Human being, again.

But don't let the atmosphere turn you against,
The way you want to be,
For twofold; one, you have a right to live as you want,
And two, example is the best way to teach.

And it's alright,
If sometimes it just seems too hard,
Nothing worth living for, isn't worth dying for, too,
You just need to know what is too far.

You Need

Perseverance,
Is really the key,
Or at least a main ingredient,
To accomplish something successfully,

For you can't please all the people all the time,
And to achieve anything,
You need to please at least one hundred people,
Eventually,

Because you can't do anything in a bubble,
Outside of others who see it,
And give it reality,
And make it legit.

And it's alright,
If they don't,
You must persevere even in death,
And live on in hope

Don't Let It Slip By

When all of a sudden,
You go from glad to sad,
From thinking that your life is enviable,
To cursing what you have,

And cursing what you've done and didn't do,
As the time slips quickly by,
And you've lived a life without risk,
Having left all sleeping dogs lie.

And you wonder what you will say to yourself,
In that eternal moment when,
You know you're never to return to your body,
And you haven't been true to what's within.

Well now, alright,
Now is your big chance,
To take this realization and do something with it,
Other than just wet your pants.

Don't Think

It never gets better,
It never gets worse,
Words spoken by a true child of this society,
Where you're born into a hearse,

Where nothing unexpected ever happens,
And if they happen to.
There is ample proof at your fingertips,
To show that assumption to be untrue,

Because everything under the sun,
Has happened before in some form,
And if you haven't actually experienced it,
Count youself amongst the norm,

Because, it's only those who are alright,
Who have the world at their command,
And can try anything that they want,
Without reprimand.

When You Stop to Think About It

How many things are priorities,
To get your life done right?
Between work and family and self-fulfillment,
It gets pretty tight,

Between helping others and not hurting them,
Between remembering to appreciate nature,
And contributing to the progress of our species,
And keeping the process pure,

Between learning from our mistakes in the past,
And reliving our greatest moments,
And reminding ourselves how all of it,
Is all a product of our senses.

And then, it's alright,
To take the time our of your life,
To engage in pure self-indulgence,
In a debaucherous and drunken night.
