Houses

They tell you you should buy a house,
Save up money for a down payment.
You put it all in, minus the lawyer's fees,
Now your money is all spent.

The mortgage payments cover a bit of the actual,
Price of the house itself.
I'm not quite sure who owns the house right now,
But I think it's someone else.

How can money tie such strong knots?
It's not even made of paper anymore.
Most of it just floats through the air like a ghost.
And most the people in the world are poor.

But it's alright,
I'll either have money one day and I'll be fine,
Or I will continue as most people in the world,
And I guess I will get by.
