He's ruled Belarus with an iron fist,
Since nineteen ninety-four,
There have been elections, but they are rigged,
There's protests in the streets,
They say the arrested have been tortured,
They've shared photos showing where they've been beat,
The history of Belarus is hard,
First free, nineteen-fourteen,
Nazis to Communists to Chernobyl,
They're a country between,
What will they be,
When this next stage is done?
Will they be a nascent democracy?
Will they jump to what we all should become?
